Board of Directors
In the past, Lana Hart held many key positions on various boards (Delta Arts Council, Rotary Club of North Delta, Scott Road Business Association, Delta Recycling Society, and North Delta Area Council of Beta Sigma Phi, to name a few). She has attended seminars on Grant Writing, Board Development, Fundraising, and Marketing and has dealt with Project Management, and Event Planning. She especially enjoys the challenges of new capital ventures.
Elizabeth seeks meaningful answers through art making. For her, it as important to dig through layers, revealing what’s underneath, as it is to add layers. Her community work is solutions focussed as well. Elizabeth has tackled program development, fundraising, and communication. She is a founding member of the Intergenerational Centre for Action Learning, encouraging positive age relations through the arts. She teaches children’s art with the City of Langley and is an active member of The Fort Gallery. Elizabeth is looking forward to an exciting and productive year working with the LAC board.
Ruth comes to us with years of experience in the financial industry as well as theatre production. She is very involved in the Surrey Little Theatre, which is one of our member groups. She is also an avid Dragon Boater who has competed internationally. In her spare time she likes to put brush to canvas.
Born in Kaoshiung, south of Taiwan, Kosheng Ko graduated from the Taiwan University of Art, specializing in watercolor creation and teaching. He has been a full time artist for more than twenty two years. He has participated in numerous solo, group, and juried exhibitions in Asia. Kosheng’s family moved to Canada in 2005. He has served as a Director on the Langley Arts Council since 2006.
Michelle Duckett is an explorer and adventurer in the realm of music, playing and teaching drums for over 25 years. Music has always been a metaphor in her life and rhythm the driving force to creativity. She has served on the Langley Arts Council Board of Directors since 2013, helping get musicians connected and into venues that will push them toward success.
Michelle is currently studying to be a Life Coach and plays with the band “BC Kitchen Sessions.”
Brigitte has played an important role in the success of Surrey Little Theatre. She has been involved in grant writing, directing, acting, and has been president for many terms. A designer by profession, Brigitte is also a visual artist. LAC is delighted to have her join us to represent the performing arts.
