Food for Thought: Art in Found Spaces Call to Artists

Art in Found Spaces Call for Artists

Theme: Food for Thought

Art in Found Spaces and the Langley Arts Council are calling all artists to participate in our project. “Food for Thought” is the theme. Growing food is an ongoing part of the Canadian Fabric. The food growing practices have varied over time and space, ranging from large scale farming to small gardens; from rooftops to backyards. The Langley Arts Council will accept up to three 2-D pieces to be juried by three local artists. The art pieces must also reflect the growing of food, from past to current day. Some examples are: wartime Victory Gardens, community or kitchen herb gardens, and family or large scale farms. The pieces can also focus on any stage of the process from seed, to growing, to harvesting, or to eating. This project is for celebrating Canada 150. Some examples are: wartime Victory Gardens, community or kitchen herb gardens, and family or large scale farms.

Jury Fee: $15 for 1st piece, $5 for each for additional pieces. Jurors to be announced.

Submission Deadline: Monday August 21st, 2017
