This year the Township of Langley and the Langley Arts Council‘s teamed up again for the annual Upcycling Design Challenge event. We invited residents to turn trash into treasure by taking something bound for the landfill and give it new purpose. The pieces were to be unique, functional and artistic. Also, 75% of the piece had to be made up of found or recovered material. The artwork was then displayed at Willowbrook Mall.
Natasha Vanderzwan’s eagle, “Focus,” was named Best in Show and won the People’s Choice. The Township of Langley Mayor, Jack Froese, congratulated her in person. Froese also took photographs with the other participants. This is Natasha’s fourth time winning the Upcycling Design Challenge.
