Funding of $2,500 awarded to the Langley Arts Council through the Township of Langley's Community Grant
In February 2024, the Langley Arts Council requested $2,500 from the Township of Langley's Community Grant for our annual BC-Wide Portrait Painting Competition and Live Painting Event.
This $2,500 in funding will provide the necessary support to host this competition and event at the Aldergrove Kinsmen Community Centre, the home of the Langley Arts Council. This funding will support the event, competition, and a free portrait painting workshop alongside the competition. This will allow residents of the Township of Langley an opportunity to try their hand at painting portraits alongside artists competing in the event.
"This event brings together community through art. It is an incredible opportunity for artists to challenge themselves, and learn from each other in a fun and supportive environment. I am greatly looking forward to it!" states Curator and Gallery Coordinator, Mini Claire.
The Langley Arts Council's home inside of the Aldergrove Kinsmen Community Center is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10:00 - 4:00 and offers arts programming, exhibition opportunities, free community events, and more!
