Langley Arts Council awarded continued support through New Horizons for Seniors Program
The Langley Arts Council is pleased to announce that our funding request for the Seniors Art and Community Programming has been approved. Funding was awarded in part through the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) in March 2025.
This support will enable the launch of new programming for seniors, including visual art classes, workshops, demonstrations, presentations, and performances that celebrate arts, culture, and heritage. In addition to the seniors programming, we will also be introducing five Open Studio sessions and three Jam and Open Mic gatherings, open to all ages and designed to foster intergenerational connection within a welcoming community space.
All programming will offer participants opportunities to explore a range of artistic mediums, experience live performances, and connect with the community through social gatherings. Both program locations are fully accessible, situated along local transit routes and within walking distance of the downtown core. Free parking is available at both facilities, with space for buses and shuttles to accommodate transit users.
"I loved seeing the senior community come together through the 2023 New Horizons programming, creating art, socializing, and showcasing their talents. I’m so excited for the 2025 programming, the new courses we’ll be offering, and the intergenerational opportunities coming with the Open Mic gatherings!" — Mimi Soo
