The Langley Arts Council receives a $20,000 grant from the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation to support the upcoming Youth Educational Event and Exhibition!
Funding will support up to 370 youth, aged 14 to 29, with the opportunity to participate in free arts educational programming and to exhibit their original artworks in a professional gallery space.
Aldergrove, British Columbia - April 30, 2025- The Langley Arts Council has received a $20,000 grant from the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® through the TELUS Vancouver and Coastal Community Board. These funds will support youth participation in arts, culture, and heritage in the City of Langley, Township of Langley, and surrounding communities.
"The Arts Council is thrilled to once again partner with the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation to bring youth programming to Aldergrove,” said Claire Sarfeld, the Langley Arts Council's Executive Director. “The Langley Arts Council’s Youth Educational Event and Exhibition will provide local and regional youth aged 14 – 29 with the opportunity to participate in free, hands-on arts educational programming. The hands-on programming will be led by arts professionals and will coincide with an opportunity for youth to exhibit their original artworks in a professional gallery space.”
This amount will contribute to the costs of programming over this three-month duration, which will allow the Arts Council to present this programming free to youth.
"We believe that empowering young artists today creates the cultural leaders of tomorrow,” said Nimmi Kanji, Executive Director of the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation “This partnership with the Langley Arts Council represents more than just funding – it's an investment in creative futures, providing 370 young people with professional mentorship and exhibition opportunities they might not otherwise access. By removing financial barriers to arts education, we're helping build a more inclusive and vibrant creative community in Langley and surrounding areas."
