About the Featured Artists

Robert Dmytruk is a distinguished Western Canadian artist and educator with a career spanning over four decades. An alumnus of the University of Alberta, Dmytruk's significant contributions to art education were honoured in the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence.

Following a prolific career in mentorship and art curriculum development, Dmytruk transitioned to a full-time studio practice. His work, characterized by expressive paintings and innovative multi-media assemblages, has earned multiple Alverta Foundation for the Arts purchased awards. Currently based in Summerland, BC, he continues to exhibit widely, exploring the intersection of painting and sculptural form through intricate, vibrant compositions.

John Patkau is an architect, designer, and artist dedicated to the craft and construction of beautiful, meaningful experiences. Since founding the internationally acclaimed Patkau

Architects in 1978, his practice has been rooted in drawing unique material expressions from the specific circumstances of every project.
John approaches artmaking as an exploration of the interdependence of material, form, and space. For him, sculpture is an extension of architecture’s social and material potential, yet it is not bound by the need to provide shelter, nor any of the myriad practical services that a building must. He is deeply invested in the physical properties of specific materials, discovering what arises from a transformative process to discover extended techniques and new forms.
