Creatures and their cabin
This class will follow all mandated health protocols as set forth by the BC Ministry of Health.
This one-day workshop will be dedicated to imagining and creating a creature of your choice with FIMO clay. The instructor will begin with a demonstration of clay molding and show examples of different creature forms, such as bugs and four-legged mammals. During the first hour, students will create their own small creatures and their habitats. In the second hour, they will use multiple different mediums to create a unique enclosure for their new friend.

Art work by instructor Ellen Bubb

My name is Ellen Bubb (she/her). I’ve grown up on, and currently reside on the unceded land of the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), Máthkwi (Matsqui) and se’mya’me (Semiahmoo) First Nations. At heart I am a painter, yet as my practice has evolved, I’ve had the opportunity to experiment with new mediums such as ceramics and video. In my practice I explore themes of the transcendental, the body, birth, and nature. I admire the strength and resilience of micro organisms and other micro life forms. My work aims to illuminate the presence of small life forms within our own bodies and our natural surroundings.
