About the facilitator; Amy J. Dyck

Amy J. Dyck is a contemporary figurative and multimedia artist, writer, and speaker based near Vancouver, BC.

At 20, a mysterious illness left her wheelchair-bound, leading her to art as a way to process her experience. Her fascination with the human figure grew from this struggle, inspiring her to blend anatomy, classical techniques, and playful experimentation in her work.

Amy’s art is exhibited widely and held in private collections across North America and beyond. She has won multiple international awards, been featured in publications, and received a Canada Council for the Arts grant in 2024. She shares her journey through talks, podcasts, and an upcoming memoir on art and illness.
