artSpacific is a special annual BC-Wide juried exhibition with $1,100 worth of prizes being awarded to winners! All 2-D artists who work on paper, canvas, or wooden panel, are welcome to submit their work for consideration.
Exhibition Dates: September 23rd - November 2nd, 2022
At the Aldergrove Kinsmen Community Centre 'Main Hall Gallery' and 'AIFS Online Galleries'.
Please note, the LAC is monitoring the COVID-19 Pandemic and will provide updates closer to the Opening Reception.
This exhibition is open to artists who reside in B.C. Canada.
This is an OPEN call, meaning you do not need to be a member of the Langley Arts Council to apply.
This call can only accommodate 2D artworks.
All artworks must be original, no photographs or prints, please.
There is no theme for this call.
Artists are welcome to submit 3 artworks for consideration and will receive a notice via email about the status of their submission after the show's submission deadline.
All artworks must be for sale, and any sales that take place during the duration of the exhibition must be facilitated through the LAC.
All artworks must remain hung for the duration of the exhibition.
Please ensure your work follows the LAC's definition of an 'Original Artwork'
Original artwork is created at the hand of the artist who is submitting the work. The creation process must be the effort of a single individual to convey their own personal interpretation of an image or multiple images. Submitting artists are allowed to use reference photos to inspire their work, but artists must use their own design and composition for the final artwork to be considered original.
2D artwork must be suitably prepared for display. Artworks must be appropriately framed or stretched with finished sides and properly wired for hanging, using d-hooks and wire. The D hooks should be 4” from the top of the frame or 1/3 of the height of the frame. The stretched wire should be 2” below the top of the frame. The Langley Arts Council reserves the right to refuse any piece. Work not properly prepared may not be exhibited (consult with the LAC regarding any questions or special considerations before exhibition).
Artwork that will not be accepted
Artworks submitted to the Langley Arts Council must not have been created in an art class, lesson, or paint night.

Please note that the application fee is non-refundable.
There will be five awards given one for Best in Show. One First Place Award for $400, one Second Place Award for $300, one Third Place Award for $200, and two Honorable Mentions for $100 each. All five winners will receive a free Langley Arts Council membership. The awards will be given out at the Awards Ceremony which will take place at the Opening Reception.
The Langley Arts Council takes a 30% commission on all online or in-person artwork sales for this exhibition.
