Creative Design Contest

Calling all youth! How has substance (drug) use affected you and those around you? We are
looking for creative design projects showcasing harmful effects of substance use including opioid
overdose awareness. We want YOU to design something creative to raise awareness about the
impact of substance use!
Open to all Langley youth aged 24 and under

• Submission must be based on a theme of the impacts of substance use
• You may submit more than one submission
• Submissions could include: poster (pencil, charcoal, felt, paint etc.), written word (poem, short
story), short film, song/music, photography, graphic design ect.
• Graphic designs should be saved as pdf or jpeg documents
• All submissions must be original to you
• Group submissions are accepted
• By submitting your art to us, you allow us to use your creation for future use including at a
showcase exhibit in 2020

• All entries must be received by December 6, 2019
• Include full name, school, grade/age and phone number on the back of your artwork or if
digital, in the email body.
• Submissions can be dropped off at the Langley School Board office attn: Creative Design
Contest or by email to care of the Child & Youth Mental Health &
Substance Use Local Action Team.

• All submissions that meet the above criteria will be entered to win gift card prizes totalling
• In January 2020, all youth who have submitted an eligible project will be invited to attend a
local showcase exhibit where winners will be announced.
