The Langley Arts Council offers many ways to become involved with the arts in the Langley Community!
Below is a sampling of our ongoing programs and activities:
Langley Arts Council is excited to partner with the Langley Township and BC Farm Museum to host an annual Christmas Art Market featuring a “Made in Canada Marketplace”. It will take place the second Saturday in December. This year, December 10th from 12pm -8pm.
The annual “Incognito” art show and sale is one of our biggest events of the year. Every year we put on a wonderful reception to open up the show and introduce the works of the many artists who participate to the public. This year, it is being held from October 28th to December 16th with the reception on November 4th from 6-8pm.
Art in Found Spaces
Our ongoing exhibits program. The major venue for this program is the Township of Langley Civic Facility, a beautiful space that showcases our member artists beautifully year round. Additional spaces are eagerly welcomed, as are assistant curators for the exhibits.
Drop-in Art Appreciation and Critique with Lalita Hamill
We are proud to sponsor a monthly art appreciation and drop-in critique night with the talented and hard-working Lalita. Her knowledge is both wide and deep and whose gentle guidance has encouraged and educated a great number of our local artists. This year it will begin on September 26th going till November 29th. Calls for Artists
Langley Arts Council is delighted to be able to use our networks at the local, regional, provincial and national levels to promote opportunities of all sorts for every kind of artist. Watch our Call for Artists section on the main page!
Youth & Childrens Arts
We have been fortunate to have renowned and gifted children’s educators and performers in this program, among them our own Elizabeth Anderson and the lively, endearing Max Tell, both of whom grace our public holiday events at every possible occasion.
Acrylic Painting Classes
It has been our privilege and pleasure to work with Janice Robertson, SFCA, NWWS, LAI, AFC, sponsoring classes in acrylic painting throughout 2015.
