Experimental painting and drawing
This Class will follow all mandated health protocols as set forth by the BC Ministry of Health.
Discover the world of abstraction and expression through painting and drawing with local artist Grace Chen! Through play and investigation, young artists will learn the fundamentals of art and design with a focus on each student's unique interests. Students will complete a series of projects that explore basic colour mixing, painting and drawing techniques, and the relationship between art and emotion. Curiosity and creativity are encouraged!
Disclaimer: This class will have students on various skill levels. On the first day of class, we will complete an introductory lesson in colour mixing and colour meanings. Students will engage in creating a self-portrait using colours that reflect each student's unique interests and personality. In the following classes, students will further develop their understanding of drawing techniques and expand on their natural creativity.

Meet your instructor: Grace Chen
Grace is painter and illustrator currently working in Vancouver, and a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. Inspired by nature, patterns, and her loved ones, Grace is motivated by creating symbolic and surreal work that explores the relationships between different ideas and identities. She enjoys sharing her passion for art with people of all different ages and backgrounds.
